Ibiza Introduction
  1. Ibiza is known for many things but primarily for its exotic nightlife and social events, but this is only a small section of this great island. For one, the natural beauty the island has on offer is pure and numerous, many of Europe's top ranked beaches are spread around the coast and found in some spectacular natural surroundings. Alternatively, visiting any of the local historical landmarks or indulging in the local cuisine is a perfect way to spend a day. This is, of course, under sun and all year warm climate which is arguably the islands biggest attraction.

Top Attractions on the Island
  1. Castle of Ibiza

A major historical site on the island sits high above the streets of the old part of the island. You can't entre the main building but that won't stop you exploring the walls and artefacts in the grounds.

  2. Es Vedra

Driving to the west of the island and catching a boat to the small island is a great day's adventure. Walking and exploring the whole of this tiny collection of rocks, beaches and hidden coves is well worth the effort.

  3. Torre des Savinar

During the day this watchtower is a nice looking building looking over the West of the island. In the evening, this watchtower gives one of the greatest views in the Mediterrannean Sea with sunset behind the Es Vedra island. Truly spectacular.

  4. Ibiza Night Life

I think its fare to say the clubs and bars on this tiny island are some of the best venues in Europe and attract thousands of party goers all year round.

  5. Diving in Las Salinas Nation Park

You can drive to any one of the many dive sites from which you can than explore this World Heritage site with some of the best underwater life in the Mediterranean.

  2. Cala Bassa

Think of the cliché sandy beach, got it? This beach is everything you would imagine with the soft white sand, warm turquoise water and sun found only in Ibiza.

  3. Las Salinas

A brilliant sandy beach not far from Ibiza town. During the day you can have a relaxing rest under the glorious sun, at night the beach turns into a mile long stretch of bars and parties.

Top Driving Tips
  1. The roads of Ibiza are an odd combination. The quality of the tarmac is good and the roads a well kept. The problem is many of the roads go through the mountains with tight corners and steep hills. Ibiza is part of Spain so you drive on the right and roundabouts go anti-clockwise. To get to some of the more hidden location you may need to down a dirt road so just keep weary of oncoming traffic.

At the Airport
  1. Ibiza airport sees on average 5 million passengers a year, this being 95% of all flights coming into Ibiza and neighbouring Formentera. 85% of that traffic comes between May and September. The airport itself is a single terminal that offers a no thrills experience but will give all passengers the basic needs to get them on their way.

Airport Location
  1. The airport may only be 7 Km away from Ibiza town however more often than not you will need to travel further afield to reach the main resorts and beaches. This, to be honest is no real issue as getting from the airport to any place on the island will take less than an hour anyway.

Car Hire at the Airport
  1. Picking up your car hire from the airport is down to two options. Either the use one of the two companies which have a desk in terminal or you can go the cheaper route an got for one of the companies close to Ibiza which offer a shuttle bus service.
