Top Driving Tips
  1. Spanish roads are good, drivers respectable and laws strict. Drive on the right hand side, follow the speed limit at all times and be careful when if ever you go off the beaten track. Spain is well sign posted and the locals are well behaved, as long as you keep the their rules then you shouldn't have any problems.

At the Airport
  1. The airport is split between military use and comercial and has recently seen a newly developed runway and renovation of it's comercial terminal. Despite this, a newly built international airport has just built outside the town of Corvera and will become the main airport for the region when its completed.

Airport Location
  1. The current Murcia-San Javier airport is actually on the edge of the Mar Menor lake is some distance from Murcia. Going on the main road you are still 50Km away which will likely take around 40 minutes door to door. The new Corvera-Murcia International airport is basically half the distance and half the time, located just outside the town Corvera and will be around 20 minutes when completed.

Car Hire at the Airport
  1. Despite being a small airport you can still expect to find a great selection of car hire which is recommended with the airport being such a distance from the main holiday destinations. As always, you can find some of the budget rental companies found in south Spain as well as the global names.
